Life In Captivity

A story of survival can show someone else that they can survive too.

— Eliza Alys Young

My childhood was crazy. So crazy that I wrote a book about it. As a child I overcame unimaginable challenges including a rare case of Vitamin A toxicity that left me physically handicapped, resulting in over 20 surgeries before I turned 18.

I have also faced emotional and mental trials when my parents battled for custody, including multiple parental kidnappings. Then, on September 11, 2001, I was one mile away from the World Trade Center and seventeen years later, was diagnosed with breast cancer from the exposure.

My goal is to inspire and empower others who may be facing their own challenges.
